Rowan Klevstul is an Auckland photographer who combines his passion for surfing, the ocean and photography. He has been senior editorial and photographic contributor to New Zealand Surfing Magazine since 2002 and is also editor of Auckland surf publication 09 Magazine.
Rowan graduated from Unitec's Diploma of Contemporary Photography in 2000 and has since had work published in numerous magazines, newspapers and websites including Australia's Surfing Life, Kiwi Surf, Slide, Quarter, the New Zealand Herald, the Christchurch Star, Freepowder.com, Razor and Morris surfboards sites and Surf2surf.
He has traveled on assignment to Indonesia, Fiji, Samoa, Australia and around New Zealand, and was still photographer for renowned surfing cinematographer Jack McCoy's 2005 release "Free as a Dog".
Rowan also enjoys landscape (particularly beach landscapes), portraiture and close-up still life photography. Future plans include a book of his work and more travel-related photojournalism.
