Karen is primarily a self taught photographer, on a constant learning curve since the age of 13 in her journey with photography. She works in both the fine art and commercial arena. Karen combines her passion for photography with a love of travel to capture travel images at every opportunity. She also enjoys the challenge of macro and abstract shots, plus environmental portraiture and has a penchant for all things Kiwiana. In 2007 Karen was awarded the distinction of Licentiate of the Photographic Society of New Zealand from the PSNZ. Some of her images have been printed with Livewires cards, in the NZ Herald, and in DPhoto magazine. Future plans include publication in 2008 of her photographs in a travel book co-authored by herself and her husband. She gets the biggest buzz when someone else enjoys viewing her images. Karen is based in Warkworth.
